Brand Identity and Website Design
The Brief
Vodafone asked Weaver to redesign Betavine.net, a website aimed at helping people get more out of mobile applications. The project ran over the course of 18 months, and encompassed two major iterations of the site, the second of which radically expanded Betavine’s initial focus of the developer community to encompass NGOs, commercial organisations and individuals engaged in making a positive difference in the developing world. A challenging brief indeed!

The Work
Weaver carried out an initial competitive analysis and expert review of Betavine, then engaged in an ongoing process of interaction and visual design, copywriting, front-end development and UX focus groups and interviews with target users based in the UK and South Africa. A multi-disciplinary team enabled us to deliver to the clients requirements rapidly and efficiently.

The Results
Betavine v4 launched successfully in October 2009, with a great deal of participation by a broad range of users on the site from the outset. Subsequently, through iterative testing, review and design and content improvements, Weaver helped Vodafone drive conspicuous increases in site traffic, engagement levels and app uploads.
