The Brief
Weaver was asked by Elastik Mobile to design a series of iPhone apps that make it easy and fun to discover great images. The apps were to share a family resemblence, but each was to have distinct content and functionality to suit the needs of its target market. Elastik also tasked Weaver with the design of their brand identity, website and business cards.
The Work
Weaver designed the Artful app platform and a series of acclaimed iPhone apps based on that platform: Artful Flickr, Cinémoi Cannes, Future Venice, Football Stars and Tennis Stars. Weaver was responsible for the user experience (UX) design, visual design and user testing of Elastik’s apps. Weaver also created for Elastik a stunning brand identity, a highly elegant website and a set of Moo business cards featuring images from Elastik’s various apps.

The Results
Artful Flickr launched on the Apple App Store in late December 2009. Reception of the app has been stunningly positive, with users, including the BBC’s Bill Thompson, giving Artful glowing reviews. Six months later, Artful Photography had been downloaded over 50,000 times across the world. The other apps that Weaver designed for Elastik have also been highly successful: for example, Cinémoi Cannes was in the top
3 apps for “Cannes” on the App Store at the end of 2010, and Football Stars gained a 7.5/10 review on leading football blog Back Page Football.
Regrettably, Elastik Mobile ceased trading in early 2011.
